When to call
Signs that need urgent attention
If you notice any of these, treat it as an emergency and call straight away. When in doubt, call anyway — we'd always rather hear from you.
- Difficulty breathing, choking or collapse
- Severe bleeding, trauma or a road accident
- Suspected poisoning or eating something toxic
- Repeated vomiting, seizures or sudden weakness
- Inability to urinate, or a distended, painful belly
